Fieldline is a concept website for a fictional AI startup. Its agents run factory energy: they forecast solar output and demand, then decide every few minutes whether to store, use, or sell power.
The audience is operations and energy managers at mid-size manufacturers, so the site had to feel enterprise-serious and visibly frontier at the same time.
The signature moment: one energy site, three beats
At the centre of the page is a miniature energy site floating in darkness: a solar field, a battery block, and a factory, linked by lines with pulses of light travelling between them.
As you scroll, the camera moves through 3 beats:
Sense: Sensors across the site light up.
Predict: A forecast curve draws itself above the solar field.
Act: The light pulses reroute to the battery, the factory, or the grid.
At the end, the camera pulls back to the whole site at dusk with every line lit.
Design and build
A dark, quiet base with one electric accent, deliberately away from the cyan-glow look common in AI templates. The type and copy are calm, precise, and industrial.
The 3D scene is one persistent canvas behind the key sections, while everything else is plain, fast HTML. Scroll drives the camera between angles, and custom shaders power the light pulses.
Also on the page
The problem in 3 moments: solar wasted at noon, peak tariffs at 6 pm, and manual spreadsheets.
A product dashboard with an agent decision log and today’s forecast.
Use cases for manufacturing, cold storage, and data centres.
Integrations, security, and a book-a-demo page.
Process
Research: Award-winning 3D sites recorded and broken down frame by frame. The shared lesson: commit to one hard 3D idea and build everything around it.
Build brief: The 3-beat story, sections, phone layouts, and a performance budget.
Build: Implemented with React, Three.js, and GSAP from the brief, then deployed on Vercel.
