API Locker: an API proxy and secrets-management SaaS
I built API Locker to help developers use LLM APIs, service keys, and OAuth credentials without embedding raw provider secrets in their applications.
The problem
I kept seeing developers run into unexpected API bills or broken apps after a key was exposed in a repository or app bundle. I wanted a practical workflow for people building quickly with AI and third-party APIs.
What I built
API Locker combines a credential vault with a token-based proxy. Applications use scoped tokens, while the proxy handles provider credentials on the outbound request. Developers can manage access and rotate tokens without passing raw keys around.
A web portal for credentials, tokens, devices, and activity
A CLI for terminal-based development workflows
IDE extensions for working inside supported editors
MCP tools for managing the vault through AI-assisted workflows
Product approach
The goal was to make credential management fit the tools developers already use. The public product includes provider templates, audit logs, revocable device access, and key-rotation controls.
My role and result
Creator and developer. I took API Locker from a recurring developer problem to a publicly available product, with a live website and multiple ways to integrate it into everyday work.
