There’s only so much you can do alone...and that includes your job search.

Video games offer ample opportunities to connect with new party members that can help you defeat the epic final boss. These connections often come with special weapons and/or skillsets that complement your own. In your job search, consider helping others who possess skills that could benefit your job search by providing the type of experience you don’t currently possess.

For example, maybe you’re not skilled in web design, but you could really use a website to advertise your services. Consider helping a web designer first, perhaps with a free spotlight post, and seeing what you could learn in exchange. This could help you gain a new skill that you could then add to your application package. Win-win! Need some help with networking? Or just want to reach out to others more organically?
