You can't deliver a digital product in 90 days? Wrong! With the right tools and strategies you can...
The delivery approach followed was: kick off, discovery, delivery and improve always
The delivery approach followed was: kick off, discovery, delivery and improve always
I worked as a delivery lead as part of a bid management team for an 18 month piece of work with a Tech consulting firm. The company we pitched to was an 88 year old global education charity.
As the delivery lead, my role was to show the potential client how we were going to deliver an initial product in 90 days.
I presented an easy to follow 90 day plan that included three milestones: define MVP, release thin slices of functionality, deliver MVP. I hosted discovery sessions with all stakeholders to establish the needs of the people behind the system to build both understanding and trust. I held bi-weekly showcases throughout the time period and fed back individual stakeholders about the project - creating a push and pull feedback loop to show the value of the work being delivered. This also created trust in the team.
As a result of these strategies, I was able to engage a team of 15 engineers across two outsourced partners to create a live registration system in 90 days. This demonstrated delivery and secured an 18 month contract. The continuous feedback in the process saved weeks of time and created the foundations for the client to underpin their business strategy.
