The founder of Flowk got in touch with me for a quick turnaround exploration round on his app. The purpose of the project was to test a few different directions for the APP UI/UX, and deliver a pixel perfect design.

The first step for me was to explore a few different style options. I had to keep the bold pink flowk vibe, but explore how this boldness could be explored in a few different styles. I explored a lot of avenues, and in the end presented 3 core directions: bold, editorial, edgy.

For the bold direction I intentionally leaned harder in an UI over UX angle, and choose a somewhat unconventional playful typography. Paired with expressive gradients and unusual shape usage, the direction had a distinct "bubblegum" feeling.

For the second option i leaned a lot harder into an editorial vibe and angle. Serif typography, sharper corners, clean structures. The result was a clean and more mature vision for the product.

Lastly, I leaned a bit more into the edgy/genz design pattern to try and deliver a style that was a bit more contemporary, while still maintaining a mainstream look and feel. Edgy fonts, emojis and a bit more character.

After a quick round of feedback, me and the founder aligned on a direction to investigate further. Somewhat of a spin on the Edgy side, but with a bit more editorial and maturity in it. I swapped the font for something more clean and structured, and leaned harder in simple and effective UX patterns.

After a quick 3 days sprint, I delivered to the founder a pixel perfect figma file of the updated app designs, as a starting point for his development team to start enhancing the app UX and UI.
