Overview

Project Details: Website: https://kaliber.group Industry: Energy Technology / Smart Energy Management / CleanTech Services Provided: Figma UI/UX Design, Webflow Development, CMS Architecture, Conversion-Focused UX Strategy, Responsive Development
Project Background: Currentt is a Dutch energy-tech company building a local-first energy management system (LEMS) that helps users optimize energy consumption across solar panels, EV chargers, heat pumps, and batteries within a unified ecosystem.
The objective was to design and develop a website that clearly communicates technical innovation, simplicity of use, cybersecurity credibility, and a future-focused clean energy vision.
The main challenge was translating a highly complex technical product into a clear, accessible digital experience for multiple user groups, including homeowners, businesses, installers, and housing corporations.
The project focused on UI/UX design in Figma, responsive Webflow development, CMS-ready scalable architecture, product storytelling, and a conversion-focused user experience designed to support both education and adoption.

Challenge

The main challenge was translating a deeply technical energy-management platform into a website that feels clear, trustworthy, easy to understand, and modern without becoming overly corporate.
Key challenges included:
Explaining a complex Local Energy Management System (LEMS) in simple terms
Communicating cybersecurity and local-first infrastructure with clarity
Structuring content for both technical and non-technical audiences
Avoiding feature overload and heavy technical jargon
Building trust in a fast-evolving clean energy market
A major challenge was that most energy-tech websites fall into two extremes — either too engineering-heavy or too generic. This project needed to balance technical authority with human-centered usability and conversion-focused storytelling.

Strategy

The strategy focused on making complex energy technology feel understandable, actionable, scalable, and conversion-friendly.
Simplified information hierarchy Complex energy concepts were broken into clear, structured, and digestible sections.
Audience-based navigation Dedicated pathways were created for different user groups:
Homeowners
Businesses
Installers
Housing corporations
Trust-focused UX Cybersecurity, local-first infrastructure, and Dutch engineering credibility were consistently reinforced throughout the experience.
Product-first storytelling Instead of technical overload, the website emphasized real value:
Energy savings
Simplicity
Control
Practical benefits
Scalable CMS structure Designed to support future expansion, including:
Knowledge base content
Product updates
Energy education resources

Solution

UI/UX Design (Figma)

The interface was designed to balance professionalism with simplicity, ensuring clarity across all user types.
Key improvements:
Clear service segmentation
Improved typography hierarchy
Strong and intentional CTA placement
Structured content blocks for better readability
Enhanced mobile usability
Consistent, reusable design system across pages
The experience was designed to reduce friction and help users quickly understand:
What the company offers
Why they should trust it
How to take action

AI-Assisted Workflow (Selective Use Only)

AI tools were used strategically during early structuring and content refinement — not as a replacement for design thinking.
Tools used:
ChatGPT
Refined service messaging
Simplified technical content for clarity
Improved CTA and section copy
Figma AI / Auto Layout Tools
Assisted with wireframing structure
Improved layout consistency
Streamlined component organization
AI was used only to improve efficiency and clarity, while all UX decisions, layouts, and visual direction were designed manually.

Webflow Development

The website was fully developed in Webflow with a focus on scalability, performance, and maintainability.
Development highlights:
Fully responsive implementation
Clean, reusable component system
Optimized class naming structure
Performance optimization
CMS-ready architecture
Scalable page structure for future growth
