COALITION - EP Rollout Campaign
Coalition is a self-produced EP project built around introspection, healing, and navigating lonely spaces. The design identity reflects this internal journey, translating emotional weight into a disciplined visual system across editorial media, photography direction, and digital asset distribution.
Foundational Identity & Logo Lockup Sheet
Foundational Mark & Lockup Architecture
The Coalition identity relies on typographic restraint and generous negative space to evoke editorial authority and emotional weight. Set in tracked-out serif typography, the mark functions with structural flexibility across diverse background applications and medium constraints.
- Primary Wordmark: Wide tracing with high-contrast character forms, engineered for scalability.
- Inverted Variations: Light-on-dark and dark-on-light lockups built for dark-mode interfaces, social avatars, and print covers.
- Timed Release Lockup: A secondary composite lockup pairing the main title with the release date anchor (COALITION - September 18, 2026).
Visual Identity System & Brand Guidelines
Artistic Philosophy & Foundation
The visual identity is anchored in vulnerability and self-discovery. The design language relies on quiet, reflective spaces. It allows the narrative of finding one's voice through creative execution to guide visual tones.
- Visual Direction: Chiaroscuro lighting, moody atmospheres, and artificial light cutting through dark backgrounds to reinforce theme and tension.
- Texture Profile: Raw film grain, subtle light leaks, scratches, and dust to give digital touchpoints a tangible, analog feeling.
- Composition: Deep point-of-view framing and quiet focal points that emphasize reflection over saturated graphics.
Visual Identity & Color Systems
A dark, low-key color palette built around deep blacks, dark rust, and warm amber accents creates immediate atmospheric weight.
- Primary Contrast: Stark black and deep shadow tones establish isolation, while warm amber and orange accents act as visual light sources. It mirrors the concepts of finding clarity through tension.
- Lighting Rules: Low, soft lighting setups designed to mimic rainy, late-night environments (as featured in the cover photography).
Typography & Messaging Tone
The type system pairs Lora (a classic, expressive serif) with Open Sans (a clean, neutral sans-serif) to balance poetic storytelling with structural layout discipline.
   Hierarchy Specs:
- Primary Headline: 40-60px (Lora)
- Subheading: 24-36px (Lora/Open Sans)
- Body Text: 16-20px (Open Sans)
- Metadata: 12-14px (Open Sans)
- Caption & Messaging Rules: Poetic, philosophical, and introspective. Every caption serves as emotional context rather than standard promotional copy.
Rollout Narrative & Phasing
Rather than dropping assets randomly, the rollout follows a progressive emotional arc designed to build resonance before, during, and after release.
1. Pre- Release Phase (Reflection > Tension > Acceptance): Teasers, moody imagery, and introspective quotes introducing the visual world.
2. Release Phase (Entering Coalition): Full EP deployment, press assets, EPK, and lookbook availability.
3. Post-Release Phase (Connection & Resonance): Community engagement, deeper behind-the-scenes breakdowns, and long-tail content.
Editorial Systems: Master EPK (Electronic Press Kit)
Publication Design & Narrative Layout Architecture
The Coalition EPK serves as the definitive press and editorial artifact for the rollout. Built around generous negative space, strict typographic hierarchy, and intimate imagery, the layout translates personal reflection into an elevated, publication-ready document.
- Cover & Visual Anchor: Bokeh optics and atmospheric street lighting set an immediate mood, grounded by the primary tracked-out serif mark.
- Project Overview & Lyric Anchors: Asymmetrical two-column body text paired with contrast imagery and pulled quote callouts ("Remaining shallow is like accepting the bare minimum of an outdated version of you.").
- Visual Palette & Mood Board: Integrated swatches (deep crimson, dark ambient tones, warm streetlamp amber) alongside photographic directional skills.
- Personal Statement & Artist Signature: Monospaced and serif typography anchored by organic handwritten iconography (The Creator signature), humanizing the high-end editorial framework.
- Tracklist & Conceptual Quotes: Sequential track breakdown (Coalition Interlude, Integrate, Shallow v. Shadow, Car Ride) paired with thematic narrative lines.
- Distribution & Contact Sign-Off: Clean, minimal footer navigation directing press and curators across core digital channels (TikTok, Behance, Instagram).
Tangible Brand Artifacts: Printed Lookbook
Physical Print Execution
To ground the digital narrative in physical reality, the Coalition identity system was extended into a printed physical lookbook. Built with grain photography, strict margin discipline, and tactile print considerations, the editorial pieces bridge abstract audio concepts into a physical brand artifact.
Digital Distribution & Social Media Kit
An intentional rollout requires a disciplined digital strategy. The Coalition Social Media Kit translates the core visual guidelines into a modular, multi-platform ecosystem. It ensures brand integrity remains intact while tailoring content to platform-specific behaviors.
1. Platform Positioning & Deployment
Rather than posting identical content everywhere, each platform serves a distinct strategic purpose within the campaign:
Instagram: The visual & narrative hub. Focused on teasers, behind-the-scenes content, narrative stories, countdowns, lyric visuals, campaign posters, and multi-slide carousels.
TikTok: The raw, high-velocity engine. Leveraged for short-form audio snippets, storytelling, behind-the-scenes moments, raw studio footage, and emotionally resonant highlights.
LinkedIn: The strategic process showcase. Used to document the rollout execution, creative decision-making, brand identity systems, design thinking, and underlying artistic philosophy.
2. Content Pillars & Narrative Cadence
The campaign's message is delivered across six distinct content pillars to build dynamic engagement without fragmenting the narrative:
Reflection: Personal thoughts, emotional statements, and core philosophy.
Atmosphere: Visual worldbuilding, movement, environment, and mood-setting.
Process: Studio sessions, design iterations, recording clips, and visual experimentation.
Music: Audio snippets, lyric breakdowns, song meanings, and sound texture highlights.
Narrative: The structured rollout progression (Reflection > Tension > Acceptance).
Community: Direct fan interaction, questions, listener interpretations, and connection.
Posting Rhythm & Guardrails:
Deployment is locked to 2–4 meaningful posts weekly, supplemented by active story touchpoints between main feed uploads. Captions are strictly governed to remain human, reflective, intentional, emotionally honest, and restrained.
3. Visual Rules & Modular Templates
To protect the atmospheric weight of Coalition, clear visual parameters keep the content elevated above trend-heavy social noise:
Core Execution: Muted tones, warm low-key lighting, intentional film grain, serif headlines (Lora), emotional spacing, cinematic framing, and heavy use of negative space.
Explicit Exclusions: Oversaturated colors, loud graphics, clutter, trend-heavy editing tropes, or chaotic typography.
Modular Template Systems:
Poster Template: Announcements, audio snippets, quotes, and visual stills.
Carousel Template: Multi-slide reflections, extended storytelling, rollout themes, and lyric cards.
Countdown Template: Time-sensitive deployment leading directly up to the September 18th release date.
Lyric Visual Template: Highlighted excerpts focused on high-resonance lines.
Snippet Cover Template: Tailored cover assets built for 9:16 vertical video platforms (TikTok & Reels).
