Kosanku is a platform is a place to find and rent boarding house

Muhammad Nurul Huda

Kosanku is an application that is engaged in finding boarding houses and renting boarding houses. Someone who is looking for a boarding house has various kinds of problems, such as not having enough time to directly survey the boarding house to be occupied, fearing that the boarding house to be occupied does not match expectations and not having acquaintances near the location of the boarding house to be addressed. Whereas the average boarding house tenant has problems, namely the remaining rooms that are still difficult to sell and the lack of promotion of their own boarding house. Based on these problems, Kosanku is an application that helps facilitate boarding house seekers and boarding house tenants.
Objective :
1️⃣ For boarding house seekers: Kosanku makes it easy for users to find boarding houses according to their desired criteria such as facilities, distance from universities/workplaces and boarding prices.
2️⃣ For boarding house tenants: Kosanku makes it easy for tenants to offer their boarding houses to boarding house seekers, right up to the transaction process.
In this project, we used the Design Thinking approach in the design process because problem-solving is focused on users, namely boarding house seekers and tenants. The Design Thinking process includes:
1 - Empathize: At this stage, in-depth interviews were conducted with 9 interviewees consisting of 6 boarding house seekers and 3 boarding house tenants. Before conducting the interviews, we set the research objectives and determined the criteria of the respondents, both boarding house seekers and tenants.
2 - Define: The Define stage is where I define the problem based on the synthesized research.
3 - Ideate: I created 4 categories of solutions, such as solutions for payment, order cancellation, throwing boarding house, facilities, and others. After determining the solutions that we will create, we create Information Architecture, User Flow, Moodboard, and Wireframe.
4 - Prototyping: The prototyping stage is the stage of developing a design product that resembles the actual application. We use a design system intending to maintain the consistency of the UI results created, both for mobile and desktop.
5 - Testing: I conducted user testing using in-depth interviews via Zoom and also in person. From the results of user testing, we make conclusions and feedback grids to facilitate the next iteration process.
