Overview

My role

UX/UI Designer, Visual Designer
4 Stories is a jewelry shop that offers a collection of a stunning jewelry pieces. The shop presents a wide range of jewelry, including rings, necklaces, bracelets, and earrings. Whether you're looking for a timeless piece of jewelry or something more contemporary, you're sure to find something that catches your eye at this shop. I liked their designs but i found their website quite old and not very comfortable for using so I decided to try to fix. There is my view how their website would look like.

Problem Statement

There a lot of different jewelry shops, every website of them have their own pros and cons. While this type of shops still is a ver crucial for people since many of them prefer to buy online, website of every shop and company should be comfortable and provide positive user experience. THe goal of this project was to research, redesign and reimagine how users experiences 4 stories online shop. Emphasis was on responsive web design, visual design and customer journey.

Solution

To provide customers with an online jewelry shopping experience that fosters feelings of empowerment and excitement, while also establishing a long-term relationship of trust with jewelry shop.

Objectives

Develop visual style, having made it more attractive especially for young people who pay attention on design.
Make website more comfortable in using, having provided good hierarchy and structure.

Goals

My aim was to create a stress-free shopping experience that empowers customers without overwhelming them or causing regret. We curate a selection of products with clear descriptions, images, and reviews. Our hassle-free checkout process ensures customers feel confident and excited throughout their shopping journey.

Research

To know more about how customers buy jewelry online it was conducted interviews with them. After this were highlighted some insights.

Insights

To not feel so overwhelmed by choices.
The ability to search in-store with help for insight and personalization.
Customers want to be sure of their purchase.
Some criteria are important to them : reviews of other people, price, price delivery, return conditions, precise information on the product (size, material).
Many customers who shop for jewelry online have a specific piece in mind that they would like to purchase. Online shopping provides a convenient way to save time, avoid the hassle of long lines in physical stores, and shop from the comfort of their own homes.
Main question was how this website redesign might help customers being convinced to buy products from this shop?

Before/After
Before/After
I changed the hierarchy and positions of items as I don’t think it’s a good idea to duplicate names of categories (back menu and menu above). I also structured items and placed them in line. I don’t think it’s a good idea to put a different photos on the page - some of them have a square form, others have a rectangle form. Some participants also noticed that chaotic location of the elements and their visual style make a quite strange picture and make people to feel a little disoriented because items don’t have a certain hierarchy.

Testing

In user testing was engaged 5 participants. All people said that visual become more pleasant and comfortable, less chaotical. They also noticed that structure looks better and it was easier for them to navigate on the pages and catalogue since all items don’t throw into one pile now. 2 participants said that would be good to add more information about product and more recommendations based on what they have already ordered.

Next steps

In the nest steps would be good to develop a page with reviews. In my own opinion, it’s a good idea to add some info about shop or owner because i didn’t find that information on the current website. 2 participants pointed on it as well and I guess lack of information may be a bad idea for shops like this because people want to trust shops and their owners and information about shop give them this trust.
And of course, to keep conduct usability testing to be sure that make the right choices and what kinds of features they find not usable on uncomfortable is crucial detail as well.
