We got together with the talented musical artist and burgeoning record exec Stephen Jimenez, to overhaul his branding and website. The core identity of his label, Blue Iguana, is one of alternative lifestyle and purist creative talent. We took certain "brutalist" designs as partial inspiration, but also wanted to maintain a clean look and feel that wouldn't dissuade the average music consumer from learning more about Blue Iguana. The final result combines elements of the absurd and avante-garde with highly attuned UX flows and design principles, for a website experience that perfectly represents Blue Iguana's brand, without foisting a predetermined musical identity on interested consumers or artists visiting the site.
