Client Requirement

The Client's approached us with a pre-validated product idea.
The Problem: Training for industrial blue-collared personnel was inefficient and unorganized.
The Solution: A mobile-first webapp that tech-inexperienced users can easily access to consume short-form training content.
Company admins would set up courses containing short-form videos, images, pop-quizes and more that the workforce could consume.
Our Approach: We sketched out a plan for this webapp. Considering the number of users and expected scale, we determined Bubble to be a suitable platform to build it on.
Challenges:
We expected the app to scale to at least several thousand users in the first 3 months after launch.
We had to make it easy to use. So it had to be set up without a login flow.
Insights were important. Anonymized data collection had to be built into the app.
Customization: The Admin had to be able to build fully custom curriculum into the system for the workforce to consume.

Delivery

Considering the requirements of the app, we built the product on Bubble to cover all these needs.
The Course Builder
This is where the Company Admin could build a course from scratch. The interface allowed the Admin to create a course and defined one slide at a time.
Each slide could be one of the following types:
Video
Image
Audio
Single / Multi-select quiz
Free text quiz
The Admin could select the type of slide and then define the contents of the slide based on the type of slide selected.
The Course Viewer
Courses would be distributed via links in WhatsApp messages to the workforce.
Once the user opened the link, the course would play out slide-by-slide.
This functionality was implemented without a login process, meaning that we set up a fully custom Javascript injection into the Bubble app that managed custom cookies on the user's device
This allowed the app to track the anonymized identity of the viewer. It enabled the user to resume an incomplete course, take a course again and track their progress.
Insights and Stats
The Admin could also view insights and stats based on their workforce's usage. The anonymized activity of the users was logged to provide insights to the Admin to create more effective courses, understand the impact of courses and ensure that their workforce was being trained well.

Launch & Scale

The app launched successfully and quickly scaled to over 15k users in the first few months. It is currently scaling as a leading LMS in the niche.
