Maple Agency
Maple is a digital marketing agency focused on helping Portuguese SMEs. I started working with them in May 2023, when they were just a company of 2 people. Maple was a dream, a vision, and they needed help to grow, get more clients, and make sure the clients they had stayed loyal.
My first job: social media copy
They had a serious problem: good ideas but no words to express them. I started writing all the social media copy for the five or six clients we had back there. Our client retention was very high, all our clients stayed for an average of one year. Their social media following was growing, followers were engaging, and prospects were getting in contact. Everyone was happy.
One of our clients (a local tour agency) was able to sell out 7 tours in a row thanks to our work with its socials (and my copy).
Another client (a wedding venue) started having 20 comments on her posts (the average was 1 before I started writing their social media copy) and launched a new “product” (a different type of party, quinceaneras) successfully (meaning, she had 1 big reservation worth thousands of euros and 150 people) with just one post.
The next step: more clients, more people
Earlier this year (2024), the CEO wanted to take the next step and started expanding. After he hired a social media manager, she started writing social media copy and I got a new job: helping the CEO with his new online course and working in Maple’s socials.
After a few months of work, his course came out. I helped him design the course and did some content myself about copywriting, and he had a 3x ROI on the course.
New challenges: email marketing
Things got bigger, and I was put in charge of email marketing campaigns for Maple. I had an average open rate of 40%, an average click rate of 3%, and every email generated between 4 to 7 sales calls for the agency.
The future with Maple
Right now, I’m still writing social media copy for 2 accounts, Maple and one local bakery. I also help with meta ads copy, from time to time.
After some technical problems, our email campaigns had to be put on hold (even though we are supposed to go back to normal in November) and I was now challenged to help the CEO launch Maple internationally. I am planning to start working with the UK market this December, doing landing pages and website copy.
