SafeBite helps people with food

SafeBite helps people with food allergies make safer choices in seconds: scan a label or upload a package photo, and instantly know if it's safe. Designed for the real moment it's used in: standing in a grocery aisle, unsure, needing a fast answer.

📌 The problem: Reading ingredient lists is slow, easy to get wrong, and stressful, especially for parents managing a child's allergies or people juggling multiple restrictions. SafeBite turns that anxiety into a one-tap check.

📌 What I designed: 1. Onboarding & allergy profile setup (multiple profiles per household, e.g. Emily, Michael, John)

2. Camera scan + image upload flows for ingredient detection

3. Clear, color-coded safety indicators (Safe / Warning) for instant decisions

4. Scan history with restricted-ingredient breakdowns

5. Accessibility feature: read results aloud

6. Full design system: components, color, and typography built for consistency across screens

📌 Design approach: I prioritized speed and clarity over density; every screen answers one question fast: is this safe? Editable allergy tags, saved profiles, and a persistent "Create new profile" action reduce friction for repeat use, since this is a tool people return to daily, not a one-time browse.
