180 Articles, 80+ Ahrefs Score: Content Quality Program

The Challenge:
Three SaaS-adjacent education brands needed to keep older articles competitive. Many pieces had AI-drafted sections reading as low-quality, putting rankings at risk. The editorial team needed a scalable QA partner to enforce a content quality bar without slowing publishing velocity.
The Solution:
I built an editorial workflow combining two layers of quality control:
12-Point AI-Detox Checklist:
Em-dash removal, AI-ism word filter (comprehensive, seamless, robust, crucial, etc.)
Link reformatting with descriptive anchor text
Screenshot QA (clarity, accuracy, captions)
FAQ refinement (relevance to software buying decisions)
Keyword plurality and topic consistency checks
Ahrefs Content Score Validation:
Every article had to clear an 80+ Ahrefs Content Score before publish
Where needed, content was restructured or expanded to hit the threshold
Editorial QA Reports:
Per-article checklist with completion status and recommendations
Flagged structural issues to the editorial team for resolution

180 articles audited and refreshed across 3 sites
