Bitnomi — Making Bitcoin Simple for a New Market in Sri Lanka

Role: App UX/UI Design
Product: Sri Lanka’s first Bitcoin app
Goal: Create a user-friendly, transparent, and fully localized crypto experience

The Challenge

Introducing crypto to a market that’s still learning the basics meant the app had to feel: 🟢 SimpleTrustworthy 🌍 Culturally relevant
Most global crypto apps assume users already understand fees, networks, and technical jargon. Bitnomi couldn’t make that assumption—clarity had to lead every decision.

Design Direction

The experience was shaped around radical clarity and cultural fit:
Plain-language explanations for technical terms
Transparent fee displays with no hidden elements
Flows designed to guide first-time users with confidence
The visual hierarchy stays friendly, predictable, and calm—reducing the intimidation that often comes with crypto apps.

Bringing It to Life

✨ Transparent Experience

Fees, rates, and network details are displayed upfront with simple explanations. No surprises. No crypto jargon walls.

🌐 Fully Localized Interface

The entire app is available in English, Sinhala, and Tamil, making it accessible to users across Sri Lanka. Localization wasn’t an afterthought—it shaped the layout, content, and tone.

Outcome

The result is a crypto app designed for Sri Lanka, not Silicon Valley—clear, friendly, and trustworthy enough for first-time users to explore Bitcoin with confidence.
