Recycling app - redesign

[App] is on a mission to help universities, municipalities, and corporate offices improve their recycling programs so as many people as possible can help make a difference.

The project began with an in-depth review of ECGO's existing interface. This step involved:

Analyzing Usability Issues: Identifying areas where users struggled to navigate or complete tasks efficiently.

Assessing Visual Consistency: Evaluating the visual hierarchy, color schemes, typography, and spacing.

Gathering User Feedback: Reviewing user feedback and app analytics to understand pain points and common frustrations.

Key findings highlighted cluttered layouts, inconsistent iconography, and complex navigation paths that hindered the user experience.

After assessing the current UI, I mapped out the critical user flows to pinpoint friction points and optimise the user journey. The primary flows included:

Onboarding Flow: Simplifying the sign-up process for new users.

Recycling Submission Flow: Making it easier for users to report recycling activities and track their progress.

Community Engagement Flow: Enhancing features that allow users to participate in local eco-initiatives and view community achievements.

With the user flows refined, I moved on to redesigning the interface. My focus was on:

Simplifying Navigation: Introducing a clean, minimalistic layout with clear calls to action.

Enhancing Visual Hierarchy: Using consistent typography, iconography, and color schemes to guide users' attention effectively.

Improving Accessibility: Ensuring that color contrasts, font sizes, and interactive elements meet accessibility standards.

The final design emphasizes clarity, ease of use, and an engaging experience that motivates users to participate in sustainable activities effortlessly.
