Round Trees Point of Sales Dsplay

This was a very early piece of work for me, and that definitely shows in places. Before starting my degree, my background was far removed from digital design, so I initially avoided it as much as possible.
Even at this stage, my interest in texture, materials, and tactile design naturally translated into 3D creation, although the technical execution had not yet fully caught up with the ideas.
Looking back, this is a project I would love to revisit with more experienced eyes, refining the execution while keeping the original concept and experimentation at its core.
The idea for this project came shortly after I began working at One Stop — my first experience within retail. I became fascinated by FSDUs and would often collect discarded display units to take apart, study, and redesign in my own time to support my degree work.
I chose Rowntree’s as the brand to explore, as it felt like another recognisable British icon with a strong sense of nostalgia and familiarity. The goal was to create a simple but effective countertop display designed specifically for till-point upselling.
The structure was intentionally bold and uncomplicated, allowing it to stand out and immediately catch the customer’s attention. Filled with traditional roll-wrapped Fruit Pastilles beside the card machine, the display was designed to encourage those quick, impulsive additions to a basket — the kind that are difficult to resist while waiting to tap your card.
