Studi.ous: Academic App Design

Again, this project was another first for me — this time exploring digital design through the concept of a smart app. At the time, I was still very reluctant to move too far away from my comfort zone, which is why I continued trying to incorporate texture and tactile qualities into the work, even within a digital format.

While the execution was still developing, I do not judge the project too harshly, as it represented an important stage of experimentation and learning. Back in 2014, apps were nowhere near as saturated or refined as they are today, so this simple concept for an academic diary gave me the opportunity to challenge myself and explore whether app design was something I wanted to pursue further.

If I am being honest, it is not a direction I have felt strongly drawn back towards since — but creative exploration is always valuable, and you can never say never.
