My Journey With Contra

Graphic Designer
Frontend Engineer
Fullstack Engineer
As someone who runs a travel blog in their free time, I have always been interested in traveling full time, and therefore a remote, independent career always has appealed to me. I used to spend hours upon hours researching different remote career paths, the ways in which I could pursue them, and the destinations I could visit. Unfortunately, as a college student, I couldn't pursue any of them yet, but I have always been interested in remote work.
One day a few months ago, I was scrolling through my Tik Tok for you page when I got a video from an account called Contra. The video mentioned that they were hiring for an ambassador opportunity, and I was intrigued, so I clicked on the profile to learn more about the company.
From my very first visit to the site, I was greeted by stunning visuals and modern design. I was instantly hooked. Then I kept reading and got even more interested. I found out that it is a new platform that will not only allow me to find remote independent jobs but also build a strong and connected network around the world, and I was instantly sold. I applied to the ambassador opportunity on a whim, and luckily ended up getting the job!
The best part about this entire opportunity is how welcoming the entire Contra community has been to me. Every time I post in the Slack, so many people, some that I don't even know, are there to support me. I’ve only joined a week ago, but I already feel as though I have a place here, and that is Contra's biggest benefit.
