Empathetic E-commerce Platform Design for Woomflo

Woomflo is a period care startup offering high-quality period panties for Indian women. When they approached us, they were preparing for launch and needed a website that resonated emotionally while facilitating e-commerce. Our team collaborated closely with them to create a design that was both functional and empathetic.
Challenge
Create an e-commerce platform that balances emotional resonance with usability, ensuring users feel understood and supported throughout their shopping experience.

Process

As the UI lead, I focused on crafting a design that felt both inviting and intuitive. We conducted user research to understand the needs and concerns of our target audience, particularly around purchasing intimate products online. The design emphasized clarity, warmth, and trustworthiness, using soft color palettes and straightforward navigation. While the final live site took a different direction, our prototype served as a foundational exploration of user-centered design in the femtech space.

Insights

Users are more likely to interact with a platform that acknowledges and addresses their personal experiences.
Simplicity enhances trust
A clean, uncluttered interface helps users feel secure and in control.
Consistency is key
Maintaining a cohesive visual and tonal language reinforces brand identity and user confidence.

Solution

We developed a high-fidelity prototype that combined aesthetic appeal with practical functionality. The design featured clear product information, easy navigation, and a soothing visual language aimed at reducing the stigma around period products.
