While the world was facing a pandemic in 2020, for the first time, there was no doubt that social media platforms are essential for businesses. That's what Matteo Cera, CEO of Hogaru, realized.

Hogaru is a Colombian startup that provides house cleaning services through virtual appointments, functioning almost like an Uber for cleaning.

Despite being recognized for their social entrepreneurship model several times, they maintained a low profile and lacked information about achievements and new services.

During the Pandemic, they were struggling to convince clients to book a cleaning service. That was why Matteo called me and asked me for my freelance services as a content creator and community manager. I said yes!

It was challenging to encourage people to trust someone to enter their houses while COVID-19 was prevalent. However, through testimonial videos, collaborations with influencers, articles in newspapers, and daily postings we managed to increase sales by 8% in the second semester of 2020 compared to the first one.

The company's inaugural digital communication and marketing strategy reached more than 700 new followers in the first three months. Also, we achieved the publication of 5 articles about the company in national media through a free press approach.

What I liked most about being part of Hogaru was belonging to social entrepreneurship that creates formal jobs for single mothers, especially during the pandemic.

I worked with talented women in my role as a content creator. We recorded cooking tutorials while everyone was attempting to make desserts at home, showcased their best cleaning tips to prevent COVID-19, and shared their most inspiring stories.

At Hogaru, I experienced what it was like to work 100% remotely. All meetings were conducted online, providing me with insights into a tech-savvy approach to work, which is what I am currently pursuing.
