Exposition
The Futur is a well-known design and education platform, founded by the influential Chris Do. Based in Los Angeles, The Futur serves as a beacon for creative professionals, entrepreneurs, and designers who want to master both their craft and the business of creativity. Through courses, coaching, and a wealth of resources, The Futur helps individuals and agencies grow their design skills while also learning how to build sustainable and successful businesses. Their content empowers creatives to bridge the gap between passion and profit, fostering a thriving community of learners worldwide.
Catering to a global audience, The Futur has built its reputation on delivering actionable insights that help creatives turn ideas into successful enterprises. But, as the digital landscape evolves, so do the needs and behaviors of their audience. Over time, The Futur recognized a shift in how users were consuming their content. Traditional digital products were no longer driving the same level of engagement. Instead, more people were showing interest in membership-based offerings that delivered ongoing value and community involvement. This new trend called for a strategic pivot, and that's where we stepped in.
Compelling Event
By the middle of 2024, The Futur noticed a significant shift in their audience's purchasing habits. Consumption of digital products had declined, while memberships, which offered deeper engagement and community interaction, were gaining momentum. The team wanted to find a way to nudge users toward joining their coaching community, but they needed a fresh approach to drive that shift in behavior. Chris Do and his team came to  Fri3nds Agency with an idea: to offer a series of micro-products that could serve as an entry point, warming up their audience before they committed to a larger membership.
The challenge was clear. The Futur needed a solution that would allow them to quickly and easily promote and manage these micro-products on their website, without adding extra steps or delays. This meant giving Chris the flexibility to update the site and publish new offerings without relying on their internal development team for every small change. We knew this project had the potential to streamline their operations and open up new ways for The Futur to engage their audience, so we jumped right in.
The Process
Our approach at Fri3nds Agency always begins with discovery—aligning the client’s goals with actionable steps. We spent time with The Futur’s marketing team and Chris himself, ensuring that our strategy was built around their needs for agility and ease of use. Once we had clarity on the mission, we mapped out a technical solution that would give Chris the autonomy to create and manage these new micro-products quickly, while maintaining a consistent, polished look on the site.
We chose to leverage Webflow’s Ecommerce functionality, adapting it to fit this unique need. The product template, which is typically used for courses, was reimagined for the micro-products. We structured the system so that these products could be generated similarly to a CMS collection, giving The Futur a seamless way to handle their content. With the flexibility of Webflow’s components and our custom code solutions, we were able to ensure that updates could be made without bottlenecks, empowering Chris and his team to manage content independently.
The Outcome
The final deliverable was a tailored, easy-to-use system that transformed the way The Futur managed their digital products. We reworked the product template in Webflow’s Ecommerce tool, creating a new space where the team could add and update micro-products without any interference from other content on the site. These micro-products, which serve as a bridge to their coaching memberships, are displayed in a new section on The Futur’s Shop page, cleverly named “Video Companion.” This section now showcases the bite-sized offerings Chris and his team wanted to promote.
To ensure that the handoff was as smooth as possible, we even created a video walkthrough for Chris, showing him how to add new products and update the pages. This gave him the confidence to take full ownership of the site updates, knowing that everything was set up to run smoothly, without the need for constant technical support. With this new system in place, The Futur can offer fresh, relevant content to their audience in a matter of minutes.
The Impact
The real success of this project was seen in the impact it had on The Futur’s operations. With the new system in place, Chris Do was able to publish his own micro-products, YouTube videos, and downloadable content, all without needing to wait for approvals or rely on assistance from the development team. This new-found independence allowed the team to focus on bigger-picture tasks, while Chris could quickly capitalize on new ideas and trends by pushing content live as soon as it was ready.
The seamless integration of the micro-products has started to warm up The Futur’s audience, creating a natural path for users to transition from casual content consumption to becoming full-fledged members of the coaching community. This streamlined process not only enhanced the user experience but also empowered The Futur to be more agile in their marketing efforts, helping them stay ahead in a rapidly changing digital landscape. With our collaboration, The Futur continues to thrive, adapting their offerings to meet the evolving needs of their community.
