Gong Cha is a premium bubble tea franchise that first began in Taiwan, and has since expanded to several countries globally, including Canada. They pride themselves on brewing the freshest and highest quality teas, which are made with precision to extract and produce the same depth of flavour in every drink.

I was tasked with designing gift cards for Gong Cha Canada, along with themed gift card sleeves to suit various occasions. The client wanted the interior gift card design to be simple and clean, but approved a more illustrative and artisic style for the themed sleeves.

For the gift card, I kept the design minimal and clean by placing the Gong Cha text logo on a solid red background for the front of the card. For the back, I made sure not to clutter the space by utilizing negative space to organize the information, ensuring the card number and QR code were easy to identify at first glance.

When it came to the gift card sleeve designs, I started the brainstorming process by sketching out ideas for how I wanted each of the card sleeves to look. I wanted each of the designs to be easily identifiable from one another not only by colour, but by text styles and hand-drawn illustrative elements. Structuring my design around the dieline, I ensured to extend illustrative elements around the edges of the sleeve to the end of the bleed area. Once the designs were completed, I communicated directly with the printing company in order to ensure there were no measurement or alignment issues during the final printing process.
