Google's Netherlands lead recorded a personal invitation to the I/O Developer Conference. The raw footage was a single talking-head clip. The goal: turn it into a short-form social video for LinkedIn that made developers actually want to register and show up.
My Approach
I cut the footage down to the most compelling 60 seconds, restructuring the speaker's points for maximum impact in a vertical format. Added motion graphics for key dates and registration details, branded lower thirds, and captions optimized for silent autoplay (most LinkedIn viewers watch without sound).
The pacing was built for social: hook in the first 2 seconds, value in the middle, clear CTA at the end. Color grading kept it clean and on-brand for Google without looking overly produced.
The Result
A short-form vertical video ready for LinkedIn and Instagram that turned a simple talking-head recording into an engaging event invitation. The edit made a corporate announcement feel personal and worth watching, which is the hardest thing to do in 60 seconds.
