Designing B2B Financial Integrations Across Platforms
Designing B2B Financial Integrations Across Platforms
At TipRanks, I designed around a dozen B2B partner concepts across web and mobile. Each project showed how TipRanks' products could be integrated into partners' existing platforms.
Each concept included up to 25 screens and usually took between two days and one week to complete. They were high-priority prototypes used in client-facing sales presentations, often before a contract was signed.
Role: Product designer
Platforms: Mobile and web
Collaboration: Sales, Product, and partner teams as needed
Deliverables: User flows, high-fidelity screens, interactive prototypes, and lightweight UI systems
Two examples of the same challenge: adapting TipRanks' financial data to a Canadian investment dashboard and a Japanese mobile app.
Before
Many partners already had stock pages, banking tools, or investment dashboards, but they did not include TipRanks' research and data analysis.
Without the integration, users could only access the same insights by visiting TipRanks directly. The goal was to bring this information into the product they were already using.
The Challenge
Each partner had a different brand, platform, product structure, and audience. I needed to make dense financial data feel natural inside each product while keeping it clear and easy to scan.
The prototypes needed to look polished enough for a client presentation and realistic enough to show how the experience could work.
Working Quickly Under Tight Deadlines
Projects were often completed within a few days and had the highest priority because they supported active sales discussions.
Adapting to Each Product
Every concept needed to match the partner's navigation, visual language, components, and existing user experience.
Simplifying Financial Data
I often had to remove, combine, or reorganize information so the most important insights were easy to understand.
My Process
Understand the partner
I started with a brief from the Sales team about the client, the presentation, and the features they wanted to include.
I usually requested access to the partner's product so I could study its navigation, layouts, components, and data patterns. When access was not available, I worked from screenshots and other materials provided by Sales.
Define the Content
I worked with Sales and, on larger projects, a Product Manager to decide which TipRanks features were most relevant to the partner and its users.
Build the Prototype
I created user flows, high-fidelity screens, and interactive prototypes. I also built a small UI foundation using the partner's colors, typography, spacing, and basic components.
Some projects followed one clear flow. Others included several possible paths, depending on the product and the story the Sales team wanted to present.
Support Sales and Development
The prototypes supported client presentations. For some partners, I worked directly with their team, prepared detailed handoff files, and supported the project during development.
Japanese Mobile App
For a major Japanese bank, I designed TipRanks features for its mobile investing app. The concept included hedge fund rankings, stock analysis, and news sentiment.
The existing app supported trading and market information. I adapted TipRanks' features to the bank's interface and worked with the Sales lead to make sure the prototype matched the product and the client's expectations.
TipRanks' News Sentiment added to the existing mobile experience.
Canadian Investment Dashboard
For a Canadian investment platform, I designed TipRanks features for a desktop dashboard. The concept included analyst consensus, price targets, analyst ratings, hedge fund activity, and insider transactions.
The dashboard offered more space than the mobile app, but it also displayed more information at once. I organized the data into clear modules that fit the existing layout and helped users review the main insights as part of their investment workflow.
TipRanks' Analyst Consensus and Price Targets added to the existing investment dashboard.
Outcome
Several concepts later launched inside partner products, including the Japanese bank's mobile app and the Canadian investment dashboard.
The prototypes helped the B2B team show potential partners how TipRanks could add useful research and analysis to their products before a contract was signed.
This work strengthened my ability to understand unfamiliar products quickly, simplify complex financial information, and create polished experiences under short deadlines.
