Introduction

The goal of this case study is to outline the process of redesigning a food and grocery delivery mobile app for the Romanian market. The project aims to improve the user experience, streamline the ordering process, and create an aesthetically pleasing interface.

Project Overview

The scope of this project involves the redesign of three existing food and grocery delivery mobile apps in the Romanian market: Bringo, Fan Delivery, and Sezamo. The objective is to enhance the user experience, optimize the ordering process, and create a visually appealing interface. The aim is to deliver a redesigned solution that surpasses the strengths of the current apps while addressing their weaknesses, ultimately providing an exceptional food and grocery delivery experience for Romanian users.

Problem Statement

The current grocery shopping experience lacks convenience and efficiency, creating frustration for customers who face challenges such as long checkout lines, limited store hours, and the need to physically visit multiple locations. Moreover, the absence of a user-friendly mobile app exacerbates these issues by restricting customers from easily browsing, selecting, and ordering groceries from the comfort of their own homes.
Furthermore, the absence of a guest checkout option adds an unnecessary barrier for users who seek a streamlined and hassle-free shopping experience without the obligation of creating an account. Consequently, there is a pressing need for a comprehensive food grocery delivery mobile app that revolutionizes the way customers shop by offering a seamless, user-centric interface, providing a guest checkout option, and optimizing the entire process of discovering, purchasing, and tracking grocery items.
By addressing these pain points, the app will enhance convenience, save time, and empower customers to effortlessly fulfill their grocery needs, resulting in improved satisfaction and loyalty.

Target Audience

The redesigned food and grocery delivery mobile app aims is to cater to the diverse needs and preferences of Romanian consumers. The target audience comprises a wide range of users, including:
Busy Professionals: This segment includes individuals who have limited time for grocery shopping and cooking. They seek a convenient and time-saving solution to order meals and groceries that can be delivered directly to their doorstep.
Families: Families, with their varying needs and preferences, require a reliable and efficient app to manage their food and grocery requirements. They often look for options that provide a wide variety of products, including fresh produce and household essentials.
Individuals Seeking Convenience: This category includes users who prioritize convenience above all else. They appreciate hassle-free ordering processes, personalized recommendations, and quick deliveries. They value apps that offer seamless experiences and simplify their daily routines.
Tech-Savvy Users: This segment consists of users who are familiar with mobile apps and comfortable navigating digital platforms. They expect a user-friendly interface, intuitive design, and advanced features that enhance their overall experience.
The redesigned app will take into account the preferences of these target audience segments. The aim is to provide a seamless and personalized user experience, offering features like personalized recommendations, flexible payment options, efficient order tracking, and responsive customer support. After understanding and addressing the specific needs of the target audience, the redesigned app will strive to become the go-to solution for food and grocery deliveries in the Romanian market.

Reason Behind The Re-Design Project

I have chosen this project for redesigning the Romanian food and grocery mobile app for Fan Delivery, Bringo, and Sezamo due to several reasons:
User Experience Improvement: I have identified that the existing mobile apps for Fan Delivery, Bringo, and Sezamo have certain usability and user experience issues. These issues may include complex navigation, cluttered interfaces, or lack of personalized recommendations. By redesigning the app, I aim to enhance the overall user experience and make it more intuitive, efficient, and enjoyable for the Romanian target audience.
Market Competitiveness: I have conducted a competitive analysis and identified that the existing apps may be lacking certain features or innovations that could make them stand out in the market. By redesigning the app, I aim to introduce new and improved features that would attract users, differentiate the app from competitors, and ultimately increase market share.
User Feedback and Pain Points: Through user research, including surveys, interviews, and analyzing app store reviews, I have identified common pain points and frustrations experienced by users of the existing apps. These pain points could include issues with order accuracy, delivery time, or difficulty in finding specific food or grocery items. By redesigning the app, you aim to address these pain points and provide a more seamless and satisfying user experience.
Business Objectives: I have taken into consideration the business objectives of the food and grocery delivery service provider. This may include increasing customer retention, attracting new users, and driving more orders. By redesigning the app, I aim to align the user experience with these business objectives, creating a platform that encourages frequent usage and customer loyalty.

User Research

To better understand the needs and preferences of users, we conducted user research through perosans, interviews, and competitor analysis. Based on the research findings, we developed user personas, competitive analysis, SWOT analysis and user journey maps to guide the design process.
