Morr Design Brand Identity

Introduction

Morr Design was created to bring a multidisciplinary, holistic approach to branding, web, and 3D visualization for consumer tech companies. But before I could offer that clarity to clients, I had to solve it for myself, by crafting a brand identity that reflected my vision, personality and style.

The challenge: standing out of the crowd

How to stand out among other designers who are just as talented, if not even more so, than me? Does the world really need another web designer who does branding and 3D? The answer is of course: YES, because every designer brings their own unique experience, perspective and vision. So to answer the first question, to stand out of the crowd, one needs to lean into what makes one unique.

The Solution: minimal, monumental and casual

I wanted to bring the audience into my inner world, because I believe that by exposing my inner truth, I can create honest visuals that will resonate with my audience.
Through this retrospective process, I came up with the this brand personality:
Minimalistic, futuristic visual design that leans towards abstract brutalism, paired with a casual messaging tone.
In short, I wanted a serious visual aspect with casual, approachable text.

The Process: from exploration to refinement

I approached Morr Design’s identity like I would any client project:
Discovery & Strategy – I defined my positioning, what services and what clients I wish to attract as well as the visual language for my brand.
Concept Development – Explored directions leaning into brutalism, architecture, and space-age optimism before refining into the “minimal but monumental” concept.
Iteration – Tested logo proportions, layouts and mockups across billboards, websites, and social assets to ensure versatility.
Final System – Created a unified style guide covering logo, color, typography, and tone of voice for consistent application.
The design process includes a lot of back and forth between colors, layouts, logos, icons, illustrations and messaging. Like stretching out pizza dough, I stretch and pull from different sides until I reach a result I feel is actually working.

Moodboards

I created 3 moodboards, out of which I chose this one, as this one felt a bit more to the point as well a more practical.

The other two moodboards emphasized light & shadow and gradient work.

The Colors

I used a monochrome foundation with subtle muted accents (clay, terracotta) to balance premium feel and warmth.

The Logo

I started by sketching and coming up with a lot of ideas that resonated with my personal taste and style.

Typography

I paired Poltawski Nowy, a modern serif with strong personality and refined details together with Sofia Sans, a versatile geometric sans-serif. Together I keep it minimalistic, yet elegant, with fonts that are readable and stylish.

Layouts

Since the main application of my branding will be on the website, I tested my ideas by creating some layouts.

The final result

A brand that mirrors its promise

The new identity gives Morr Design a clear, distinct voice in the creative industry. It communicates trust, expertise, and boldness while staying approachable. More importantly, it demonstrates the exact value I offer to clients: clarity, cohesion, and confidence in their visual presence.
