Greater Padel — Mobile App UI/UX (Spec Project)

Greater Padel is a concept mobile app designed to solve the fragmented experience of playing padel. Right now, booking a court, finding someone to play with, joining a tournament, and tracking your match results all happen in different places (or not at all). I wanted to design a single app that handles the full lifecycle of a padel session, from finding a court to reviewing your match stats.
This is a spec project. I designed the full UI/UX from scratch after researching existing padel apps on the App Store.

Research

I started by downloading and studying every major padel app available: booking platforms, social matchmaking tools, and tournament organizers. The pattern was consistent. Most apps do one thing well (usually booking) and ignore everything else. The social features feel bolted on, tournament discovery is buried, and post-match tracking barely exists.
The opportunity was clear: design a unified experience where booking, matchmaking, tournaments, and results all live under one roof, with each feature flowing naturally into the next.
I used Google Stitch for early concept prompting to explore layout directions before committing to high-fidelity screens.

Court Booking

The booking flow is built around speed. Users pick a venue, select a date and time slot, and confirm in 3 taps. The interface uses a calendar strip at the top for date selection and a clear grid of available time slots below. Court details (surface type, indoor/outdoor, price) are visible without extra taps.

Find Someone to Play With

This is the social core of the app. Players can browse nearby users filtered by skill level, availability, and preferred play style. Each player card shows their rating, recent match history, and availability status. The goal was to make finding a hitting partner feel as easy as swiping through a feed, not filling out a form.

Tournaments

Tournament discovery uses card-based browsing with clear visual hierarchy: tournament name, date, entry fee, skill level, and spots remaining are all visible at a glance. Users can register directly from the card without navigating to a separate page. Active tournaments show bracket progress and upcoming match times.

Match Results & Tracking

After a match, players log their scores and the app generates a match result card with set-by-set breakdown, winner highlight, and performance trends over time. This data feeds back into the player profile, keeping ratings current and giving users a reason to return to the app between sessions.

Design System

The visual language uses a dark green primary palette (referencing padel court surfaces) paired with warm accent tones for CTAs and status indicators. Typography is clean and sporty without being aggressive. Icons are sourced from Icons8 and customized for consistency, and photography from Unsplash is used for venue imagery and lifestyle context.
The full design was built in Figma with organized components, auto-layout, and a scalable design system that could support future features like coaching, league play, or venue partnerships.

Outcome

Greater Padel demonstrates how a single, well-structured app can replace the 3 or 4 separate tools most padel players currently juggle. The concept covers the full player journey: book, match, compete, and review, all within a cohesive experience that feels native to how the sport is actually played.
