Project Overview:
I was tasked with creating a fun, short-form animation reel for Pooph, leveraging the popular "It's a Boy" trend. The purpose of the animation was to emphasize excitement around saving money with Pooph, using characters modeled after their spokesperson and a dog. The goal was to deliver a humorous and engaging piece that aligned with Pooph's brand identity, focusing on pet odor elimination.
Creative Process:
The characters were hand-drawn in Procreate, where I based them on real-life references of the company's spokesperson and their dog to maintain brand recognition and consistency. The animation concept revolved around their joyous reaction to discovering the benefits and savings of using Pooph.
Animation Techniques:
Once the characters were completed, I imported them into Adobe After Effects, where I applied various animation techniques to bring the scene to life. Some key techniques included:
Smear Animation: Used to exaggerate motion and emphasize the excitement and energy of the characters, giving the animation a fast, dynamic feel.
Motion Blur: Incorporated to add fluidity and a sense of realism to the characters' movements, creating a smoother transition between keyframes.
Speed Ramp: Adjusted timing to enhance the comedic effect, speeding up and slowing down the action to add variety and impact to the short reel.
Outcome:
The final animation was an 8-second reel that delivered a burst of comedic energy, capturing the excitement of saving money with Pooph in an engaging and shareable way. The reel was posted on Pooph's Instagram as part of their comedic content strategy, aiming to increase brand engagement and entertain their audience.
