Redesigning a SaaS Identity in 4 Weeks.

Context

Selling the Future with a Website from the Past.

devicethread is pioneering the future of smart hospitality, yet our digital presence was stuck in a static era. The legacy site was abstract and text-heavy, failing to communicate the sophistication of our IoT ecosystem. My challenge was to bridge this gap: building a high-velocity, narrative-driven identity that visually proved our technical maturity the moment a user landed on the page.

Problem Statement

Failing the 5-Second Test: When Visitors Couldn’t Understand the Product

Complexity Over Clarity

Potential clients struggled to connect technical details with business value, leading to early drop-offs.

The legacy interface relied heavily on static text blocks, failing to demonstrate the real-time, dynamic capabilities of our advanced IoT ecosystem.

The Credibility Gap

The visual identity felt outdated compared to market competitors, creating a silent disconnect that made it harder to attract enterprise-level buyers.

Business Goal

Losing Leads to Ambiguity.

We were selling a futuristic IoT platform, but our digital storefront looked stuck in the past. The business conflict was critical: marketing efforts were driving high traffic, but the website failed to capture it. The goal was to stop this "leaky bucket" by replacing the outdated site with a high-performance identity that converted interest into credibility—and doing it in just 4 weeks.

Strategic Direction

Selling the Story, Not Just the Specs.

I pivoted our strategy from "Information Overload" to "Visual Immersion." Instead of forcing users to read long technical paragraphs, I used AI-generated imagery and Motion Design to show the product in action. The strategy was to create a "breathing" interface where micro-interactions guided the user down the page, turning a passive read into an active brand journey.

We often forget that B2B buyers are humans, not robots. My solution prioritized emotional resonance over technical density. By replacing cold data tables with warm, AI-generated visuals and fluid motion, we shifted the user's state of mind from "analyzing specs" to "imagining possibilities," making the complex platform feel instantly accessible.

Curiosity-Led Discovery

Static pages create fatigue. I implemented "Progressive Disclosure," where details only appear on hover—keeping the interface breathable while rewarding user curiosity without overwhelming them.

Enterprise clients buy trust. I designed a spatial timeline that visually maps the company's rapid growth, instantly signaling maturity and building confidence without requiring heavy reading.
