To celebrate Facebook’s 20th anniversary, Meta commissioned an internal video highlighting two decades of growth, impact, and cultural relevance. I joined the project as a Motion Designer through Superside, animating the full piece under a tight timeline while maintaining a premium, high-detail visual standard.

This project was created for Meta’s internal teams as part of Facebook’s 20th anniversary milestone. I came in during the production phase, with established styleframes already defined, and was responsible for bringing them to life through motion.

The main challenge was balancing high expectations and a compressed timeline. The video needed to feel celebratory and nostalgic, yet still aligned with Meta’s modern, polished visual language. Every detail had to feel intentional, cohesive, and worthy of a major brand moment.

Rather than relying on complex or flashy animation, the strength of the piece would come from restraint and precision. Letting the content breathe, and allowing motion to support the story instead of overpowering it, was key to achieving a premium and confident feel.

A clean, modern motion system that subtly evokes nostalgia, focusing on rhythm, pacing, and clarity instead of spectacle. The animation was designed to feel timeless, honoring Facebook’s history while reinforcing its continued relevance.

I animated the full video, working with a mix of video footage, typography, images, and illustrations, ensuring all elements felt cohesive within a single visual system. The process required careful attention to detail, consistency in motion language, and disciplined execution to meet the tight deadline without sacrificing quality.

The project was developed within Superside’s production pipeline, collaborating closely with the agency team and following Meta’s established brand standards.

The final video was shared internally at Meta as part of the 20th anniversary celebration. The client response was very positive, with strong appreciation for the level of detail, polish, and overall execution under time constraints.

Working on this project reinforced the value of clarity, restraint, and confidence in motion design, especially at a global brand scale. It was a high-stakes assignment that pushed me out of my comfort zone, and I’m proud of both the result and the growth that came from taking on the challenge.
