Did clean up, catch up and routine bookkeeping for a florist client. Based on data we were able to identify income opportunities.

Client was keeping books on paper and google sheets, with no formal accounting package. Was spending as cash came in with little thought about cash flow planning result was they were missing out on opportunities like Mothers Day, Valentine's Day etc. due to lack of available funds.

Process was:

1) Gain an understanding of the business from the client. What the catch points were and what their ultimate goals were for the business.

2) Recommended an accounting package. In this case based on the clients budget Quickbooks was selected.

3) Determine what data the client would like to see and what items are key to the success of their business. Built the ledger structure around the clients needs so that the system can deliver exactly what they need.

4) Do catch up bookkeeping approximately one year of data and deliver financial reports to client.

5) Based on the data the seasonality in the clients business was obvious. Worked with client to create a budget and cash flow forecast. This helped ensure the client had enough excess cash reserves to take advantage of opportunities. Also helped to identify those areas where there was waste and rectify them.
