Selection of new ERP system. Conversion of 25 entities using various accounting systems (Quickbooks, Saga & Intact) to new ERP system (Accumatica).
PE owned health care entity wanted to convert their existing accounting systems into a new ERP. They had just gone through a number of M&A's growing the group from 5 to 15 entities. Needed project completed within 3 months to be ready for year end.
Project workflow:
1) Gain an understanding of the business and what ownership expectations are.
2) Evaluate various ERP systems to determine which ERP would best suit the needs of the enterprise. Once ERP chosen in this case Accumatica, present to ownership and get purchase approval.
3) Meet with stakeholders and make sure we have a good understanding of their needs. Come up with a project implementation plan and timeline. Present to ownership for approval.
4) Create chart of accounts in new ERP system and map existing accounting systems chart of accounts.
5) Using the chart of account mapping import 7 years of historical data into the new ERP system.
6) Implement at a minimum 1st stage ERP modules, that included, General Ledger, Cash, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
7) Build automation tools and create links to banking data to ensure optimum efficiency.
7) Provide training to finance team on how to use new ERP system and any efficiency tools.
8) Create custom reports that meet end user specifications.
