Strategic Communications & Presentation System for Swagelok by Scott DS YoungStrategic Communications & Presentation System for Swagelok by Scott DS Young
Partnered with Swagelok to translate a dense 3-year Word document into a strategic presentation used by leadership.
Designed a comprehensive executive communication system for Swagelok's strategic planning initiative, combining presentation design, information hierarchy, wireframing, custom iconography, motion graphics, and campaign-ready visual assets. The project transformed complex technical and business information into a clear, engaging visual narrative for leadership and stakeholders.
Project Overview
Partnered with Swagelok to transform a dense 3-year Word document into a clear, on-brand strategic presentation used by the CEO to align internal stakeholders and sales teams around the 2026–2028 roadmap.
This project required balancing strategic clarity with information density—designing for leadership conversations, not just slides.
The Challenge
The primary challenge was preserving critical details while elevating the content into a visual narrative strategy. The deck needed to clearly communicate vision, mission, product priorities, and timelines without overwhelming its audience.
Presentation was given to me in a Word format
Approach
I worked closely with leadership to understand business goals, constraints, and long-term direction. From there, I structured the content into a visual hierarchy designed for executive presentations and quarterly reviews.
Key decisions included:
Translating text-heavy concepts into visual metaphors
Separating Vision, Mission, and Values into focused, single-purpose slides
Designing custom icons and graphics to support live storytelling and discussion
Process
This the final motion graphic used in the presetnation
I began by wireframing layouts directly from the original Word document, mapping content to slide structures before refining visuals.
Before-and-after examples show how dense information was reorganized into a clearer, more engaging presentation while maintaining accuracy and intent.
One example included reimagining a text-based “capacity” concept into a visual illustration that reinforced themes of growth, use, and improvement.
Vision, Mission, and Values were redesigned into pinwheel-style graphics with custom icons, allowing key points to be revealed progressively as the CEO spoke.
Slide Ideas
Final slide with motion graphic that emphasis product and cusomter segments
Turned the Vision Mission Values slides into their own slide to emphasis more on the content and for a cleaner look
Branded Iconography
I developed a comprehensive set of icons that seamlessly integrated with the overall design, contributing to a cohesive and professional aesthetic.
Outcome & Impact
The CEO used the final presentation to present Swagelok’s 3-year strategy to internal stakeholders and sales teams, and later supported quarterly progress updates across the organization.
Leadership feedback highlighted both speed and quality of execution:
“Thank you for your outstanding and quick work.”
“Scott does amazing work. He is highly responsive, always ahead of deadline, and delivers top-tier quality.”
