This project involved a detailed IP infringement assessment of PancakeSwap, a decentralized exchange utilizing an automated market maker (AMM) model. Focusing on Middleton’s Patent JP6813477B2, I conducted an in-depth analysis of PancakeSwap’s functionalities, including swaps, flash swaps, and liquidity pools, and compared them to patent claims related to decentralized digital asset transfers. This assessment aimed to identify potential overlaps, specifically evaluating key claims involving smart contracts, pricing data sources, and cryptographic signatures.

The final report covers how PancakeSwap’s features, such as BEP-20 token swaps, liquidity provision, and staking mechanisms, align with or differ from Middleton’s patented technology. Findings provided valuable insights into IP compliance for DEX platforms operating in decentralized finance (DeFi) ecosystems.
