In this project, I conducted an in-depth exploration of how blockchain technology can revolutionize the supply chain management (SCM) sector. I examined its potential to improve traceability, enhance transparency, reduce costs, and address persistent challenges such as asset authenticity and counterfeit prevention. This work covered the theoretical benefits of blockchain and specific industry applications, including real-time tracking, streamlined transactions, and smart contracts.

The analysis also delved into real-world case studies, such as IBM’s blockchain solutions with GlaxoSmithKline, Naturipe Farms’ traceability for fresh produce, and Tony's Chocolonely's BeanTracker for ethical cocoa sourcing. Each case illustrated the use of blockchain for better inventory monitoring, asset management, and compliance with ethical sourcing standards. The project’s findings support blockchain as a critical tool for advancing the SCM field, from logistics to customer engagement.
