Feathr- Social Media Ad

First Spark Digital hired me to create a compelling motion graphics ad for their client, Feathr, a SaaS company that provides a comprehensive marketing platform to non profit companies.

Limited assets to work with, requiring manual creation and sourcing

Limited budget but the ad still needed to look custom and not templated and generic

Lack of script or fully fleshed out storyboard

Short time window to convey information (:20)

Short ads are often more difficult to concept than longer ads due to the fact that you need to fit specific information into such a short time window. After an initial brainstorm with my client, we landed on a concept that would pair motion graphics text with hand drawn assets that matched the Feathr brand.

I worked closely with First Spark to nail down the copy and from there created a storyboard based on the initial copy points. The original visuals I presented were well received for the most part, however the client wasn't really feeling a portion of the visuals.

After some discussion with the client, we updated some of the copy and decided to lean into motion graphics text to drive the visuals forward, along with some iconography. Due to the tight timeline, I opted to rework the visuals directly within After Effects as that would allow me to mock everything up quicker.

After the rework, the client was loving it and I went full steam ahead on animation. The final video came together nicely and after the music and sound design was added in, it really popped. At the end of the day, BOTH clients were happy and that's the ultimate goal for a freelancer working with an Agency client.
