First Spark Digital hired me to create a video for their unique laboratory client, Integrated Labs, specializing in a wide range of solutions in food chemistry analytical testing. The video aimed to explain their services to prospects and function as an advertisement on social media and YouTube.

This project presented several challenges, such as a limited budget, an incomplete concept/storyboard, the absence of a script, limited knowledge of the specific vertical market, and a tight delivery timeline.

To produce a high-quality video within the budget and client's timeline, creativity was essential. Utilizing AI and ChatGPT-4, I analyzed the Integrated Labs website. With guidance from First Spark, I developed a script that resonated with their brand voice, effectively communicated their unique selling points and value proposition, and included a direct call to action.

For the visual style, I again employed AI to deconstruct the script and conceptualize various visual ideas, leading to pitches for client approval. The critical role of AI in expediting and streamlining these tasks, particularly for cost-saving and efficiency, was significant.

I assembled a storyboard for client review, which, after minor modifications, received approval, paving the way for animation. We chose to use pre-animated Lottie assets from IconScout, which I custom-modified to align with the client's branding. This approach cut about 4-5 days from the timeline and budget.

Additionally, I integrated motion graphics text elements and creative transitions to maintain viewer engagement and highlight key value propositions. The final step involved adding a professional voiceover, matching music to the video's pace, tone, and emotion, and immersive sound design.

The resulting video, which you can see above, was well-received by my client and theirs.

The two key lessons from this project were to avoid outright rejection due to budget constraints and instead get creative and discuss alternative solutions to meet client expectations, and to leverage AI to enhance productivity and accelerate the transition from concept to animation.
