DeshConnect is an ultra-simple platform that helps Bangladeshi immigrants book flights, send remittance, and manage essential payments with confidence.
Designing for those left behind by modern apps.
Many Bangladeshi immigrants work long hours abroad, juggling unfamiliar technology, limited literacy, and the constant stress of staying connected to family back home.
Most flight booking and finance apps are cluttered, text-heavy, and built for
global travelers—not for this underserved user base. DeshConnect had to feel
like a trusted shortcut, not another barrier.
My Approach?
I focused on reducing friction, cognitive load, and unnecessary decisions. Every flow had to be linear, every button obvious, and every screen language-adaptable, because clarity builds trust.
Wrapping it up...
Keeping everything simple from the start—quick signup with phone number and OTP, language set right away, and no complex forms. Users can easily pay bills or top up phones, and every flight or transfer is saved with a shortcut to rebook or resend. It’s everything they need, just a few taps away.
Reflections
Working on this project proved that simplicity is a superpower—especially for users the tech world forgets. If I had more time, I’d push voice input and an agent mode for families booking on behalf of elders. But for now, I’m proud that my relatives abroad can finally book a flight or send money without phoning home for help.
