Problem Statement

From an economic point of view, a car should be in use around the clock. Studies show that private cars are parked somewhere unused for an average of 23 hours a day.

Possible solution

Find a way to conveniently share your Mercedes with acquaintances, friends and family via the iOS and Android smartphone. The sharing economy concept aims to optimize the use and accessibility to resources (goods, services...) and decrease the cost at the same time.
It has been widely adopted in the area of transportation under the term shared mobility; this concept has been considered an important element of a sustainable transportation system.

According to a recent surveys, the cost of vehicle ownership has risen in recent years, many individuals have begun to shift toward more-accessible, inexpensive, and hassle-free means of transportation, such as car-pooling, P2P carsharing, and vehicle rental, all of which are part of the MaaS ecosystem. The major factors driving the growth of the market are:
Low cost
Convenience of such mobility services
Growing concerns over greenhouse gas emissions
Growing adoption of car sharing services in developing countries
Countries all around the world are stepping up their efforts to create awareness on sustainable transportation systems.

Geographical research

Raising awareness of peer-to-peer carsharing services could also help build awareness, trust and reliability.
Provide insurance policies for vehicles while they are being shared, but a clearer legislation detailing who is liable for the damage accrued above the limits of these insurance policies and for maintenance-related costs, which occur while a vehicle is being shared, is needed. While linking Facebook and other social media profiles may increase credibility and trust within the sharing economy, this action also introduces privacy issues.
