Costume Design Commissioned for SeaWorld Abu Dhabi’s Halloween Celebration
Project Overview
Costume design and 3D modeling project commissioned by a fashion house in Dubai, UAE, for SeaWorld Abu Dhabi’s annual Halloween event (2024). The objective was to design a highly immersive, production-ready, vintage Mark V Diving Rig costume that balances historical accuracy with the practical requirements of theme park live-action performances.
The Challenge
The client required a garment that looks authentically heavy, aged, and industrial, while remaining lightweight and safe enough for performers to wear during long event hours. Every mechanical connection from the air hoses to the helmet locking mechanisms, had to be visually convincing yet optimized for physical fabrication.
3D Model Breakdown
The Solution & Execution
Conducted deep research on the 1957 US Navy Mark V diving apparatus to translate its complex mechanical components into detailed 2D technical blueprints (Tech Pack).
Developed a complete 3D breakdown featuring photorealistic textures, including realistic brass oxidation, weathered canvas textiles, and vulcanized rubber components.
Delivered a comprehensive manufacturing blueprint package including a functional weight belt matrix, custom pipe clamps, and a detailed footwear schematic bridging the gap between high fashion and industrial prop-making.
