The AI Assistant for Children is an iOS mobile app designed to help kids and teenagers with daily tasks like homework, stress management, and planning their day through fun and emotional interaction. Unlike traditional assistants, this app uses animal avatars (teal cat, pink rabbit, green dog, etc.) to create a more engaging and personalized experience.

Designing for kids presented challenges such as keeping the interface simple and engaging, while also catering to their emotional needs. Children require intuitive design with visual appeal, but they also need trust and ease of navigation to stay engaged without frustration.

Solution.

To address these challenges, we crafted a design that focused on creating a seamless user experience, while giving special attention to the emotional connection between the user and the AI assistant. The app’s UI features colorful, lovable avatars that children can select based on their personal preferences, giving them a sense of ownership and individuality. The UX journey was carefully planned to guide the user effortlessly through tasks while maintaining an emotional layer—whether the AI is helping with homework, providing stress relief tips, or telling a joke, the interaction is always friendly, encouraging, and supportive.

The app raised $0.85 million in investment and achieved an 84.3% parent and children approval during A/B testing. Early feedback has been highly positive, highlighting the app’s ease of use, emotional appeal, and its ability to make daily tasks more enjoyable for kids.
