Overview:

I had the privilege of collaborating with Chump Change movement, an organization dedicated to creating a more transparent donation system. The project aimed to design their website, Chump Change Movement, to better communicate their mission, streamline user engagement, and enhance online accessibility for supporters, volunteers, and beneficiaries.

Client Background: Chump Change started decades ago in the life of a man willing to make sacrifices to make a change in the world around him. Mohsen Kachooee started his life with his own hands and knows exactly what happens when someone looks beyond the money and the fame, and just looks at people to give them a helping hand. Many helped Mohsen with his humble beginnings and now he has made it his mission to do the same for others, the same children who feel lost and have no sense of direction or home; this is not a charity case, but a movement for humanity.

Design Process:

  1. Research and Understanding: Conducted in-depth interviews with key stakeholders at Chump Change Movement to understand their values, goals, and target audience. Researched other successful NGO websites to gather inspiration and identify best practices.
  2. Wireframing and Information Architecture: Developed wireframes to outline the website's structure and information architecture. Ensured a user-centric approach by organizing content in a logical hierarchy that facilitated easy navigation.
  3. Visual Design Iterations: Created design mockups that aligned with the organization's branding while incorporating a clean and compassionate aesthetic. Prioritized a color scheme and imagery that conveyed warmth and positivity.
  4. Storytelling Integration: Emphasized storytelling through strategic use of images, videos, and narratives. Showcased real stories of impact, humanizing the organization's initiatives and creating a connection with visitors.
  5. Accessibility Implementation: Applied accessibility standards, such as alt text for images and proper heading structures, to ensure the website is inclusive and can be accessed by individuals with disabilities.

Conclusion:

This web design project exemplifies my commitment to leveraging design principles for positive social impact. The new Chump Change Movement website not only enhances the organization's online presence but also fosters a deeper connection with its audience, driving support and engagement for meaningful social change.
