About the Project
A collection of World Cup match day posters designed as a personal creative project, exploring bold sports-editorial design across multiple matchups. Each poster is built around a distinct color story and typographic treatment tied to the competing nations, with the FIFA World Cup trophy used as a recurring visual anchor across the series.
Design Approach
Color-driven storytelling: Each poster's palette is pulled from the competing teams' flags and kits — deep reds and greens, blues and golds — so the mood shifts instantly from match to match.
Typography as a graphic element: Large, condensed numerals and bold display type (e.g. "FINAL," "WINNER!!") are treated as design objects in their own right, not just labels — giving the posters a broadcast-graphics energy.
Layered composition: Player imagery is combined with venue details, team crests, and match info to give each piece a complete, editorial feel rather than a simple graphic overlay.
Series consistency: Despite different color stories per poster, consistent grid structure, type hierarchy, and trophy iconography tie the full set together as one cohesive series.
Tools Used: Affinity Photo/Designer (Pixel & Vector workspace),
Disclaimer: This is a personal, non-commercial fan design project created for portfolio and educational purposes. Player imagery, team crests, and FIFA World Cup branding/trophy are used for creative/editorial exploration only and remain the property of their respective rights holders (FIFA, national football federations, and the players depicted).
