Overview

Island Express Laundry came to me to create a website that would allow their clients to schedule services online and serve as a place for potential clients to learn more about them. I used Wix to design a website that did just that.

Problem and Solution

Island Express Laundry recognized that booking online would bring convenience and a great user experience to their clients. This would also give them an edge over their competitors. My job was to bring online scheduling to life in the form of a website.

Digital Wireframe

After a discovery meeting, I made a list of all the needs of my client. I used that list to make a wireframe that met the company's needs as well as their customers’ needs.

Presenting the wireframes to my client allowed me to gather feedback on the functionality and features of the website to ensure I was meeting their needs.

I got a lot of great feedback after presenting the wireframe which I used to create a high-fidelity prototype.

Moodboards

After discussing the aesthetic my client was going for, I created some mood boards to make sure we were on the same page. Everyone has different interpretations of words, however, showing a visual allows the client to visually see how you interpreted their words.

My client already had a logo so it was important that I pull inspiration from the logo to make their website feel cohesive with their existing branding. For this particular project, I pulled the colors from the logo to use in imagery throughout the site.

Results

After getting feedback on the layout and mood board, I designed and presented some high-resolution prototypes. The client chose the design shown below. Through listening to both the needs of my client and their customers, I was able to design a website that not only fit their business identity but is helping them expand their business. Their website is live and they've accepted their first online bookings.
