Mobile App Design for a eHealth Cardiology Platform

In this project case study, I'll share my experience designing an intuitive and efficient eHealth platform for specialist consultations, with a focus on cardiology. The platform serves patients seeking to book consultations, input preliminary vitals, and access follow-up care.
Our goal was to create a seamless mobile user experience that offers quick and accurate access to cardiology specialists, simplifies the booking process, and allows users to input preliminary vitals before appointments. We also aimed to ensure users feel comfortable and confident throughout their interaction with the platform.

Conclusion

Researching cardiology exposed me to new insights—I discovered various specialties within the field. This knowledge led me to add a specialty search feature, allowing users to easily find specific types of cardiologists.
I also learned how digital products like this can greatly benefit the healthcare sector. They enable people to consult doctors without visiting a hospital, providing an excellent solution for urgent cases.
The final design successfully addresses the core challenges identified at the project's outset:
Easy Booking Process: Users can effortlessly schedule specialist consultations, considering availability and urgency.
Preliminary Vital Input: Patients can enter their vitals before consultations, enhancing appointment efficiency and providing cardiologists with essential data in advance.
Consultation/Appointment Dashboard: This feature offers an organized view of upcoming and past appointments, as well as consultation history.
Secure Messaging: A secure system facilitates safe and easy communication with specialists before and after consultations.

The Impact

The platform enhances access to specialized care by streamlining appointment booking and empowering patients to actively participate in their health management. By enabling users to input vital signs prior to consultations, doctors can make more informed decisions during appointments. This approach reduces waiting times, boosts care efficiency, and ultimately improves patient outcomes. The user-centric design makes healthcare more approachable, enhancing the overall experience for patients throughout their medical journey.
