The brief

Plantix is a crop advisory app by PEAT GmbH that helps farmers and others in the agricultural space in India to trouble shoot problems and attain higher yields. With over 15 million downloads, communicating effectively with users is a top priority.
The marketing team reached out to me to guide them through the creation of their brand communications guide. With excellent skills in-house, the team were looking for mentorship from me, and a sounding board and expert eye for the creation of the comms guide.

The work

Over a number of months, I helped the Plantix marketing team via coaching calls and document collaboration to shape a communications guide that:
Clearly conveyed the purpose and values of the brand, and what that looks like in practice.
Took into account cultural sensitivities, non-native language speakers, and varied education levels of the app's users.
Explained why it is important to implement the style guide and why its rules can help both content creators and end users.
Provided loads of practical examples of how to implement the brand voice, so that anyone creating Plantix comms doesn't have to guess how to do it.

Results

Once my work with the marketing team was complete, they handed the copy over to their designers, who brought the brand communications guide to life, with visuals complementing the copy. The guide was rolled out across the business in late 2022, so as at the time of writing (early 2023) we are yet to see how well it is adopted, but early feedback is very positive.
