10 Years Mistakes Has Come to Hunt me

Wow, 10 years flies by! Looking back, trying to understand where I've been and where I want to be, I've achieved some incredible things – as a blogger, making at least $10k monthly without spending a dime on ads and promotion, Assisting others virtually and in person to do the same and even beyond. But here's the surprising part: I never documented any of it.
Back then, a portfolio felt like bragging, (that's not me) and honestly, I never had to prove myself to anyone. I just know I have this desire of wanting people around me to measure up to my success with their success. I even went out of my way to teach the ones that showed interest to learn.
Fast forward to 2024, and the reality is, in this competitive age, saying you can do this or that isn't enough anymore, hence the ever need of showing off what you can and bragging with your skills and experience with your portfolio.
The frustration of having to re-explain accomplishments I know I achieved, or trying to convince anyone I can do what I said I can, is a real wake-up call, a must-do, I had all the time to prepare for, but didn't take the advantage.
Documentation – clear records of projects, processes, and results – would have saved me so much time and set up a few years ahead of my peers in this reality. But no problem, its the time a person wake is their morning.
Lesson Learned:
Don't wait until you're required to prove what you can do, then you start documenting your journey. One of the things I admire about westerners is their culture of documentation. That is why you can easily hear someone say I am first generation this or that, this business has been in my family for 8 generations... and so on
Looking Forward:
Now, I'm actively building a portfolio, painstakingly going through thousands of emails and messages to find pictures, videos, attachments from previous projects and documenting them.
It's a work in progress, and I plan to use it and build a momentum and habit of documenting, not just skills, what I know and what I can do, but everything thing else in my life/work. I want someone else to be able to tell my story when I'm gone. I tiring and seems like a waste of time, really, but it also feels empowering to finally have a record of what I can do.
