Royal Beats Delft is a vibrant music festival aimed at students in Delft, featuring festive "house-like" music. The challenge was to create a brand identity and website that resonate with the student demographic while distinguishing itself from its parent company, Het Koningshuys.
Challenge
The festival needed a fresh identity separate from Het Koningshuys. The objectives were:
Appeal to the student audience in Delft.
Reflect the festive, house-music vibe.
Establish a distinct look and feel from the parent company.
How do you create a completely new identity and website for a brand-new festival?
Origin of the Assignment
Initially approached for a website redesign for Het Koningshuys, the project pivoted to developing a brand identity and website for the new event: Royal Beats Delft. Although the festival had previous editions, the goal was to rebrand it entirely, separating it from the parent company's image.

Selected Concept
The chosen design features purple hues and a futuristic font, creating a festive, almost festival-like atmosphere. Orange tones from other concepts were avoided to prevent associations with Het Koningshuys. The bold colors and typography give the design a daring and exciting feel, aligning with the festival's energetic vibe.

Reflection
"This project was incredibly educational. I handled it solo, working with clients unfamiliar with the field. It was challenging and sometimes daunting, but it empowered me to persevere."
Upon reflection, I'm critical of the development approach. My familiarity with Webflow was limited, leading to a somewhat messy structure. Additionally, Webflow proved slightly too complex for the client to maintain, despite the training provided.
