Client: Leading Physiotherapist & Sports Science Educator (Surrey Physio)
Tools Used: Make.com • OpenAI Platform • Google Docs
Challenge
The client regularly published insights from cutting-edge research in sports science, biomechanics, and physiology. However, manually reading, interpreting, and summarizing academic papers was time-intensive — often requiring hours to distill each study into clear, reader-friendly summaries suitable for public audiences. This bottleneck limited content output and consistency across published articles.
Solution
I developed an AI-powered research summarization engine that automated the process from document parsing to publish-ready summaries. Using Make.com and OpenAI, the workflow automatically:
Extracts and processes newly sourced academic papers
Summarizes complex research findings into concise, accessible insights
Outputs formatted summaries directly into Google Docs for quick review and publication
The system was designed to maintain scientific accuracy while ensuring the content was engaging and easy to understand for athletes, patients, and general readers.
Results
80% increase in content output
Consistent, high-quality summaries suitable for professional publishing
Impact
This automation enabled the physiotherapist to scale their educational content strategy without additional staff. It bridged the gap between scientific research and practical communication, empowering the client to share more knowledge with less effort — while maintaining expert-level quality and tone.
